Over the years Wanjiru, has perfected the complicated art of juggling between a diverse range of roles and responsibilities. Through Children’s World she is able to actively pursue her passion for children, which dates back many years, to a brief dalliance with the task of owning and running a kindergarten. This belies her culinary skills and associated catering tasks for which she is well known and respected. Aside of all this, she went into counselling and acquired a Masters degree in clinical mental health counselling with a trauma specialization at Lesley University in Massachusetts, Boston. Wanjiru is married to Ezra, a civil society practitioner and is the mother of three strong willed women – Nkatha, Kanyiha and Kagendo in addition to being the doting grandmother of ‘Zela’ a.k.a. Tayana Zuri.
