Pegging activities are used to help with the development of numbers and number sequencing. We use activities like tearing paper, cutting with age appropriate scissors, puzzles and sand play to continue to help develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, communication, writing, coloring and collaboration skills. The objective is for children to learn to be mindful of their own and others’ space. It also teaches values like bonding, sharing, turn-taking as they join in with others in play. Although music is introduced earlier, it is incoporated here with sing along recorded music and dance to help with coordination. We recognize that at this stage the child from about 4 years has more or else indicated their preference for the right or left-handedness.

Children’s World prides itself in its use of Edutainment as a brand. Simply put, in edutainment we educate as we entertain. All our activities are therefore geared toward educating as we play, eat, explore and remain mindful of one another. Learning to feed themselves also leads up to a development of independence. We try to inculcate habits of table etiquette in fun loving ways. One major achievement is that of teaching the children to appreciate that everyone eats different food and whatever they bring from home is special and good. Rarely have we found a child who reaches out to eat someone else’s food. The most si a promise that their parent would be tld to bring the desired food sometime.
